About me
Understanding comics as a vessel for multiple formats and media, Iván McGill experiments in his work with a blend of languages, animation, video games, and illustration, to address new paradigms such as digital identity, dataism, and information overload. For Iván, experimental comics serve as both a starting point and a meeting ground for representing realities in constant transformation.
He is the co-founder of the narrative studio Shaman Garage, a member of the organizing team for the independent comic festival GRAF, a fellow at the Càtedra Crec Finestres, Elisava, and a professor of Moving Narratives at U-TAD University. His work has been showcased in independent comics and transmedia festivals, both nationally and internationally, through exhibitions, talks and workshops
